FIELD: mechanical engineering; gas-turbine engines.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes delivery of compressed air to starting device from external power source and driving the engine rotor by starting device to light up fuel in combustion chamber. After lighting up, delivery of compressed air from external supply source to starting device is stopped and air is directed into engine turbine cooling system simultaneously increasing fuel supply into engine combustion chamber. In process of delivery of compressed air to starting device, delivery of additional mechanical energy to engine rotor can be effected by connecting its shaft with shaft of rotor of external power source.
EFFECT: improved reliability of engine starting under abnormal or heavy climatic conditions, reduced time of starting, increased specific power of external power source without increasing its overall dimensions and weight.
