FIELD: radio engineering; high-frequency amplifiers of radiophones.

SUBSTANCE: amplifier cascade includes three parts: power preamplifier, power amplifier that can be bypassed by signal, and high-power amplifier. Talking time over battery-powered radiophones can be extended by real-rime regulation of amplifier cascade. Signal bypasses power amplifier at low output power levels, and low biasing current is supplied to high-power amplifier. Signal bypasses power amplifier at medium output power, and medium biasing current is supplied to high-power amplifier. When high output power is desired, power amplifier is turned on and high biasing current is supplied to high-power amplifier. Power amplifier is held in OFF-position when signal bypasses it.

EFFECT: optimized power requirement at desired output power level which extends talking time over battery-powered radiophones.
