FIELD: transport engineering; railway transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of diagnosing condition of traction vehicles and it is designed for checking locomotive pneumatic equipment. Actual volume of pneumatic supply lines of locomotive is determined by comparing. Having determined compressed air leakage losses from locomotive lines by design volume of main reservoirs basing on time of reduction of pressure by value of installed pressure differential, atmospheric restrictor of known diameter is connected to constant pressure line at outlet of driver's valve. Using this method, leakage of compressed air from locomotive pneumatic lines in presence of artificial leakage from atmospheric restrictor is determined, and actual volume of locomotive pneumatic supply system is determined by comparing results, thus obtained.
EFFECT: improved accuracy of checking and determination of capacity of locomotive compressor plant.
