FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method consists in measurement and comparison of brake line pressure drop rates. Brake line pressure drop rate is measured after release of brake line caused by short-term opening of end valves and operation of air control valves and after connection to brake lines of extra leaks with known flow rate magnitude. Relationship between defined rates and specific volume of brake line is used to define the train brake line length.
EFFECT: higher railway traffic safety.
