ELECTROLYTIC ELEMENT FOR PRODUCING ALKALI METAL Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

Abstract RU 2252981 C2

FIELD: electrochemical devices.

SUBSTANCE: element has anode in form of alkali metal amalgam, hard electrolyte conducting ions of alkali metal and cathode. Anode is made mixable, while hard electrolyte and cathode are separated by liquid electrolyte. As liquid electrolyte element has liquid melt. Hard electrolyte is selected from group, consisting of sodium aluminum β-oxide, sodium aluminum β"-oxide and sodium β/β"-oxide or from group, consisting of potassium aluminum β-oxide, potassium aluminum β"-oxide, and potassium aluminum β/β"-oxide.

EFFECT: stable process of alkali metal production in electrolytic element.
