FIELD: thermal and electromechanical engineering; large electrical machines such as turbogenerators of thermal and nuclear power stations.
SUBSTANCE: for in-service diagnosing of stressed state of rotor shafts in large electrical machine of power unit stresses at critical sections of rotors under action of bending moments due to rotor mass deviations from basic responses of electrical-machine adjacent supports and coupled set are calculated or experimentally found by evaluating changes in bending moment active in critical section. For in-service evaluation of changes in response of electrical machine supports and coupled sets due to rotor mass pressure sensors such as strain gages are installed between outer surface of shells, in blocks, and mating surface of journal bearing cages.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability and facilitated manufacture of large electrical machine due to timely detection of excessive bending stresses in rotor shafts.
