FIELD: electrical and electromechanical engineering; vibration diagnostics of rotor banding-ring interference fits for large electrical machines such as turboalternators.
SUBSTANCE: proposed vibration-diagnostics method for controlling interference fits of banding rings involves use of qualified algorithms most useful to check banding assembly for interference fits. Novelty is that insufficient or loose interference fit of banding ring on rotor barrel is evaluated by changes in vibration shift vector(vibration speed) of rotor shaft (journal bearings) in the course of variations in rotor speed or temperature conditions of electrical-machine banding ring and rotor barrel. Loose interference fit will cause variation in rotor-shaft vibration shift vector (vibration speed) in direction equivalent to that dictated by unbalance of banding assembly in region perpendicular to rotor pole axis. This insufficient interference fit algorithm for rotor barrel banding rings is most useful for electrical machines running under conditions when difference between temperatures of banding ring and rotor barrel is maximal at least for short time during machine reversal and initial no-load running.
EFFECT: enhanced operating reliability of electrical machine.
