FIELD: electric engineering.
SUBSTANCE: device has sealed body with output window, protective screen with mesh positioned coaxially inside the body, positioned on protective screen, placed along greater axis of electron source body in parallel to surface of output port and connected to power source cathode node, containing forming electrode and at least one long cathode made of heat-resilient metal, providing for satisfaction of condition μ ≤ μ0, where μ0 - necessary distribution (heterogeneousness) of current of electrons beam in working volume; μ - real distribution of current of electrons beam; controlling mesh, positioned between cathode and protective screen mesh, placed along cathode and connected to power source through modulator. Elongated cathode is made sectioned of n number of incandescent elements, where n ≥ 2, placed with interval along greater axis of electrons source, each incandescent element is made in form of spiral, coiling of which satisfies following conditions: d ≤ h ≤ 2d and 7 ≥ D/d ≥ 2, where d - wire diameter; h - spiral step; D - spiral diameter; having length L, satisfying condition f=L2γ/8ς, with f ≤ 0.1H, where f - bend arrow; γ - specific load; ς - voltage; H - distance between cathode and controlling mesh.
EFFECT: broader functional capabilities, higher durability, higher reliability, higher efficiency.
