FIELD: electronic engineering; electronic devices or tapped extended-flow electron guns for bringing electron flow out of vacuum region into atmosphere or any other gas medium.
SUBSTANCE: proposed cathode assembly has elementary ribbon-type cathodes in the form of cathode cylinder with emissive layer covered base and heater mounted in separate case on holders made in the form of thin metal strips, each incorporating three rectangular sections forming U-junction. Each rectangular section is provided with rectangular projection disposed perpendicular to this section; ends of all rectangular projections are facing elementary ribbon-type cathode cylinder disposed in-between and are rigidly fixed to the latter; peripheral sections of plate are rigidly fixed to case. Cases of elementary ribbon-type cathodes are mounted on common base of cathode assembly and are rigidly fixed thereto, gap between elementary ribbon-type cathodes being in compliance with desired condition.
EFFECT: enhanced uniformity of extensive electron flow distribution throughout sectional area; enhanced reliability and service life of cathode assembly.
