FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: wide-aperture accelerator with a planar electron-optical system is designed for synchronous irradiation of surfaces or gas volumes of a large cross section. Exit window of accelerator contains a cooled support lattice made of copper alloy. Grid is made in form of a plate, perforated by slotted holes. Metal foil is vacuum-tightly installed on the outer surface of the support grid. Output window contains an additional plate mounted on side of cathode-grid assembly. Support grid and additional plate are perforated by parallel rows of slotted holes arranged at same pitch. Slotted holes of support grid and additional plate are of same configuration, coaxial and arranged one above other. Support grid and additional plate are provided with cooling channels.
EFFECT: increase in the current density of the extracted electron beam.
