METHOD FOR TREATING SUBCAPITAL FRACTURE OF COLLUM FEMORIS Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: medicine, traumatology, orthopedics.

SUBSTANCE: the present innovation deals with performing inter-trochanterian osteotomy by dissecting a collum-bearing wedge, applying osteotomic surface for two thirds of caput femoris' surface and fixing the collum to diaphyseal segment with a compressing shape-memory clip. The plane of butt-jointing of the caput and diaphyseal segment should be overlapped with replaced greater trochanter upon nutritive muscular pedicle, moreover, a channel should be developed under the greater trochanter due to resecting corresponding parts of caput's cortical layer and diaphyseal segment and the greater trochanter should be fixed to diaphyseal segment with a compressing shape-memory clip. One should dissect a tendon of iliopsoas muscle from the lesser trochanter. Modeled titanium plate should be fixed from one end with wood screws to diaphyseal segment, and from another end - to the greater trochanter with two screws, one of which fixes simultaneously the greater trochanter, diaphyseal segment and the caput, and the second one should be applied additionally to fix the superior part of the greater trochanter with caput femoris that enables to achieve early restoration of affected limb's motor function and accelerate the process of reparative osseous regeneration in elderly and senile patients.
