SUBSTANCE: method involves making surgical incision and fixing injured iris pupil edge zone before carrying out cataract phakoemulsification with iris protector being implanted on the injured iris pupil edge zone with overlay. Then, paracenteses are carried out in iris protector end projections and the iris protectors are introduced via the paracenteses for fixing the iris protector ends to the limb. An iris protector is manufactured as toroid segment having ring-shaped recess on outer side. The recess shape is congruent to iris pupil edge. One opening is produced near each end on the upper iris protector surface. Phakoemulsification being over, the iris protector and iris retractor are removed, and viscoelastic is washed out and operation incision is sealed.

EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness of treatment.
