FIELD: diagnostic facilities; nondestructive testing of steel wire ropes.
SUBSTANCE: proposed device contains split section enclosing the wire rope, measuring links and fixing mechanisms. Each said mechanism contains slider hinge-connected with turnable lever by means of tie-rod. Pressure roller with groove profile is installed on free end of said lever. Profile of groove corresponds to diameter of wire rope. Device is furnished with spring secured on rod for translation along rod which is arranged parallel to longitudinal axis of wire rope is rigidly secured on split section. Split section is provided with slots located parallel to longitudinal axis of wire rope diametrically on inner a cylindrical surface of section which is made of insulating material. Number of slots is equal to number of wire rope strands. Measuring links are fitted on bottom of slots. Measuring links are coated with insulating linings and are made in form of eddy current transducers of clearances, each being electrically connected by means of normalizing unit with data processing unit whose output is connected to indication unit.
EFFECT: improved accuracy of measurement of lateral deformations of wire rope.
