FIELD: polymer materials.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to open-pore polyolefin foamed plastic, which is suitable as sound and heat insulation material. Extruded and coalesced foamed material of rope strand with open pores contains polypropylene material with density not higher than 20 kg/m3, fraction of open pores is at least 50% and pore size is 2 mm or less. Foamed material is characterized by sound reduction factor in extrusion direction at least 0.3 and contains a multitude of perforations in direction essentially perpendicular to extrusion direction. Foamed plastic structure exhibits air flow resistance less than or equal to 70 kPa.s/m2, which ensures desired sound absorption level in direction perpendicular to extrusion direction. Invention also describes apparatus for preparation of material.

EFFECT: improved insulation capacity.
