FIELD: polymer production.

SUBSTANCE: invention, in particular, relates to foamed plastics prepared from syndiotactic polypropylenes and foaming thermoplastic polymer resins. Mixed polymer foamed plastic contains 0.1 to 60 wt % of syndiotactic propylene resin, which may be propylene homopolymer or copolymer, and 40 to 99.9 wt % of foaming thermoplastic polymer resin. The latter is selected from group including (i) flexible polyolefin resin with the exception of isotactic polypropylene, (ii) isotactic polypropylene with tangent delta below 1.5 determined using sample 2.5 mm thick and 25 mm in diameter at 190^оС and oscillation rate 1 radian/sec; and (ii) polystyrene with average molecular mass below 240000. Density of mixed foamed plastic ranges from 9 to 100 kg/m³.

EFFECT: improved quality allowing use of foamed plastics as insulation and shock-absorption materials as well as in the form of packaging and in manufacture of molded articles such as cups and trays.
