FIELD: mechanical engineering; engine manufacturing.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of provision of fire safety of hydrocarbon fuels in emergency of objects furnished with internal combustion engines. Proposed method includes phlegmatization of fuel by organohalogen compound added to fuel in amount of 1-10% of fuel volume. When phlegmatizing fuel directly on object furnished with internal combustion engine, organohalogen compound is preliminarily introduced into fuel tank and then fuel is filled in amount depending on preset concentration of phlegmatizing agent. Prior to using said fuel in internal combustion engine, organohalogen compound is removed from fuel by vacuum distillation. Device for implementing the method contains fuel tank and fuel feed pump to deliver fuel into internal combustion engine. It contains additionally pneumatic valve, vacuum compressor, dephlegmator, pump to return liquid phlegmatizing agent and its collecting device. Input of fuel feed pump is connected with output of fuel tank whose input is connected with output of pump returning liquid phlegmatizing agent whose input is connected with output of liquid phlegmatizing agent collecting device whose input is connected with output of vacuum compressor. Input of compressor is connected with first output of dephlegmator whose second output is connected with fuel feed input of internal combustion engine, and input of dephlegmator is connected with output of pneumatic valve whose input is connected with output of fuel feed pump.

EFFECT: provision of fire safety in emergency.
