FIELD: aviation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of aviation, in particular to methods of operation of power plants of multi-rotor aircraft, and can be used to create efficient aircraft (AC), including those with vertical take-off and landing, both manned and unmanned, for the purpose of application in civil and military field. Method of operation of hybrid power plant of multi-rotor aircraft is characterized by that chemical energy of hydrocarbon fuel is converted into energy of compressed air in thermal machine – free piston diesel compressor, and compressed air is accumulated in receiver, after which it is directed along at least one air duct through at least one controlled throttle device to at least one pneumatic motor for conversion of compressed air energy into mechanical work of rotation of propellers, which create lift of aircraft. Hybrid power plant of a multi-rotor aircraft includes a symmetrical single-stage free-piston diesel compressor operating on hydrocarbon fuel, the output of which is connected to an air receiver, wherein at least one air duct with adjustable throttle valve is connected to the receiver. Outlet of the valve is connected to a gear-type pneumatic motor of a chevron type. Pneumatic motor includes two rotors rotating in opposite directions, and an air screw is connected to each rotor.
EFFECT: increase in payload and flight range of the aircraft due to reduction of weight and dimensions of the power plant and increase in its efficiency.
