FIELD: nuclear power engineering; power projects using multilayer containments.
SUBSTANCE: proposed leaks cleaner designed to prevent escape of radioactive and otherwise contaminated materials into surrounding atmosphere in case of accidents has convector with air draft shaft mounted in its top, filter with draft tube, and passage disposed above heated surface of convector and communicating interlayer space of containment; the latter accommodates power unit with heat loop coupled with convector; novelty is that air draft shaft incorporates heat-transfer channels whose bottom ends communicate through valves with passage and top ones, with filter; heat-transfer channels are disposed above heating surface of convector for drying out leaks and building up natural convective draft affording escape of leaks over channels from interlayer space of containment.
EFFECT: enhanced safety of nuclear power station due to reduced emission of contaminated materials into atmosphere during above-design accidents.
