FIELD: nuclear power engineering; nuclear power stations.
SUBSTANCE: proposed air cooling device has toroidal inlet air manifold for organizing bottom equalizing space installed concentrically on external wall of containment, circular air intake slot provided in toroidal inlet air manifold, deflector with outlet air manifold, vertically mounted air ducts disposed on containment dome, their bottom sections being in communication with toroidal inlet air manifold and top ones, with outlet air manifold forming top equalizing space, and heat-transfer apparatuses for reactor cooling down installed in air ducts at points of their communication with toroidal inlet air manifold. Device is also provided with circular shield concentrically and vertically mounted on toroidal inlet air manifold. Circular air intake slot is made in side surface of toroidal inlet air manifold opposite shield and disposed symmetrically between its top and bottom edges.
EFFECT: enhanced operating reliability of air-cooled passive heat transfer system at all wind loads, reduced space requirement.
