FIELD: light sources depending for their operation on impact compression of working material.

SUBSTANCE: propose method involves production of working gas medium layer uniformly emitting light by taking this medium out of static condition with aid of shock wave generated by explosion of ball-shaped explosive charge with positive oxygen balance affording generation of reference light pulse similar to that investigated during its central symmetrical initiation; reference pulse illumination pattern possesses characteristic points at which radiation parameters are constant and can be found by means of experiments conducted in advance.

EFFECT: provision for generating reference light pulse with desired emitting parameters in field conditions.
