FIELD: electrical engineering, applicable on big steam and atomic power plants.
SUBSTANCE: the method provides for control of insulation resistance of the rotor winding. At a reduction of this value below the set point a short-time boosting of the rotor current is conducted. As a result of boosting, shacking-off of the conducting bridges occurs between the winding conductors and the rotor steel. Such bridges are formed by adhering dust. In other modifications of the invention provision is made for disconnection of the generator from the network before such a boosting.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability.
