FIELD: electric engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method includes measuring voltage, generator current, and current alternation parameters, which current is fed from excitation system dependently on these parameters, rotor voltage control, comparison of it to constraint and if it is exceeded - enabling discharge circuit, method additionally includes controlling current in discharge circuit of generator rotor and if current appears in this circuit current fed from excitation system is decreased.
EFFECT: higher reliability, lower costs, broader functional capabilities.
