SHEET STRAIGHTENING MILL Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: rolled stock production.

SUBSTANCE: sheet straightening mill includes backup rolls mounted in chocks. Chocks of one roll are coupled with screws of screw-down mechanism. Mill has intermediate rollers mounted in holders; straightening rollers mounted in bearing assemblies. Lateral backup rollers engage with boundary straightening rollers. There are also mechanisms for adjusting position of rollers. Intermediate rollers in holders, straightening rollers, lateral backup rollers and mechanisms for adjusting their position are mounted in two separate, upper and lower, straightening cartridges joined with chocks respectively of upper and lower backup rolls. At least one cartridge is jointly coupled with chocks of respective roll; screws of screw -down mechanism joined with said chocks are not coupled one to other. Intermediate rollers mounted in holders are fixed in cartridges in predetermined positions without gap in direction of metal movement. Straightening rollers are mounted in cartridges with gaps between adjacent bearing assemblies.

EFFECT: enhanced quality of straightened sheets, enlarged assortment of rolled sheets.
