APPARATUS FOR WELDING AND CUTTING METALS Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: welding processes and equipment, namely apparatuses for welding and cutting metal in different branches of machine engineering.

SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes power source with power transformer having magnetic circuit for placing primary and secondary windings of transformer with possibility of motion of one winding relative to other. Part of turns of secondary winding is arranged in primary winding; outlets of windings are connected to respective inlets of switching unit provided with switch for controlling welding electric current. Apparatus also includes plasma cutter, control and protection unit. The last includes circuit for limiting idle electric current at plasma cutting and circuit for controlling driving. Inlets of unit for controlling driving are connected to outlets of rectifier; each outlet of it may be connected to welding electrode holder, to welded part, to plasma cutter and to part worked at plasma cutting. Secondary winding includes additional winding arranged in primary winding; its outlet is connected to respective inlet of switching unit having circuit for switching welding and cutting modes. Additional winding has at least one turn. Apparatus also includes compressor pneumatically communicated with plasma cutter.

EFFECT: enlarged using range of apparatus suitable for welding by means of standard electrodes and for high quality plasma cutting at keeping fine adjustment of welding current at welding process.
