SUBSTANCE: power supply has rectifier unit, bridge-type semiconductor power converter, power transformer, output rectifier and reactor, control unit with control transformer, current-limiting reactor, current transformer, and threshold device. Newly introduced in power supply are threshold-device reference pulse shaper, quenching unit, flat and drooping current- voltage characteristic shaper, arc firing unit improving its striking and maintenance conditions, stepless turn-on and turn-off device for power rectifier. EFFECT: improved reliability in transients and in case of supply voltage failure, enlarged functional capabilities due to extended range of welding currents. 2 cl, 2 dwg
