FIELD: laser engineering; producing aerodynamic window for emitting laser radiation into atmosphere.
SUBSTANCE: proposed aerodynamic window for high-power laser has shaped flat supersonic nozzle, optical cavity, flat supersonic diffuser, wall pockets, and side wall. Nozzle produces supersonic jet in window aperture. Diffuser has supersonic blow-own nozzles. Pockets are disposed in aperture channel. Proposed method for controlling supersonic jet of aerodynamic window curtain includes generation of curtain jet having desired flow parameters and static pressure drop, as well as maintenance of continuous flow of boundary layers in output channel. Supersonic blow-own wall jet is organized in addition at inlet of output channel throughout width of its upper wall. Supersonic blow-own wall jets are formed through height of output-channel side walls. Intermediate-pressure wall flows are confined within wall pockets.
EFFECT: enhanced pressure drop across curtain jet and reduced optical distortions occurring in curtain jet.
