FIELD: medicine, pulmonology, gastroenterology.
SUBSTANCE: one should simultaneously perform 24-h-long esophageal pH-metry and tussography with the help of a tussograph IKT-1. On finishing monitoring and processing the data obtained it is necessary to conduct combined analysis of pH-gram and tussogram. Tussis is considered to be caused due to reflux if pH decrease below 4 occurred simultaneously or within 5 min before the onset of tussis. The method enables to reliably diagnose gastroesophageal reflux disease and decrease expenses for inspecific and empirical therapy, terms of hospitalization and patient's disability.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of diagnostics.
