FIELD: pulse engineering; generation of heavy-current electron beams with aid of high-power inductive energy storages.
SUBSTANCE: as distinct from prior-art device for shaping high-voltage pulse that has pulsed current supply, inductive energy storage, and release incorporating at least one electrically exploding conductor one of whose ends is connected to pulsed current supply and other one, to inductive energy storage, proposed one is characterized in that electrically exploding conductor is disposed in insulating sheath in a spaced relation. In addition, cross-sectional area bounded by inner surface of sheath and by outer surface of electrically exploding conductor is greater by maximum 20 times than that of electrically exploding conductor. Release can be made in the form of two opposingly wound and coaxially disposed solenoids of equal length. Such design has made it possible to solve problem of matching relatively low-impedance power supply with high-impedance load.
EFFECT: reduced size of device and reduced length of pulse wavefront across load.
