FIELD: heavy-power switch-mode power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method that can be used in studying and developing power supplies for feeding thermonuclear fusion systems of liners, charged particle and dust plasma accelerators, and for pumping active media of lasers includes saturation of material of electrically exploded wires with hydrogen prior to installation of inductive energy storage release into device while the latter is deenergized. Energy accumulated in wire material during its saturation speeds up its destruction process thereby reducing time of electric circuit opening and enhancing effectiveness of magnetic storage energy utilization.
EFFECT: reduced switch-over time and simplified design.
