RAIL TIE SHIFTER Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: mechanical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention is designed changing position of tie relative to rails at normal forming of ballast boxes in process of construction and repair of rail track without preliminary cleaning of ties. Proposed tie shifter contains grip, hydraulic pusher, hydraulic pump tie stops connected by crossmember over rail top and installed for engagement with side surface of tie and pressing to lower surface of rail foot through detachable limiter inter connecting said stops. Grip is made in form of housing and two opposite eccentrics installed on housing for turning and fixing of rail. Tie stops and crossmember are intercoupled to form rigid frame. Hydraulic pusher is secured on frame in center of crossmember, being hinge connected with housing of eccentrics.

EFFECT: provision of equal-weight and safe operation of load-bearing members, reduction of weight of portable device, increased labor productivity owing to reduction of preparatory and finishing operations, improved convenience in operation.
