FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method meant for use in manufacturing spiral-shaped clamps for fastening self-bearing conductors on 6 - 35 kV overhead power transmission lines involves treatment of several steel wires to twist together their central sections and to transform their circular sections into spirals of desired pitch and diameter. Thermosetting tube is put on wires and clamping eye is shaped. Wire spirals are placed in oven and exposed therein to temperature of 150 - 180 °C for 10 minutes, whereupon ends of extreme sections of wires are fused. Clamps manufactured by this method are noted for ability of multiple reuse and provide for reliable fixation of wires or cables designed for operation under severe conditions (ice, wind, vibrations, and the like).
EFFECT: facilitated manufacture and reduced cost.
