FIELD: electric power industry.
SUBSTANCE: spiral-type clamps equipped with a screen to limit tracking erosion and mechanical damage to the sheath of a fibre-optic cable and to reduce the voltage of the beginning of the corona at the edge of the linear tension and supporting spiral reinforcement intended for suspending self-supporting non-metallic optical cables on overhead power line supports. The effect is achieved in that the linear spiral clamp containing spirals/strands of spirals wound onto an optical cable is made with end sections to form a protective screen for protection against corona discharges; the protective screen is formed due to the fact that the end sections of the spirals or strands of the spirals are bent away from the optical cable, and then bent in the direction opposite to the suspension point of the linear spiral clamp so that their axes are parallel to the axis of the optical cable along the cylindrical surface, the axis of which coincides with the axis of the optical cable. Thus, the screen can be manufactured simultaneously with production of the spiral type clamp using the operation of bending the spirals, while the screen is a part of the linear spiral clamp and does not require additional installation steps.
EFFECT: simplified screen manufacturing technology, reduced time for manufacturing spiral-type clamps equipped with a screen, and simplified installation of the screen.
