FIELD: fiber-optic transmission systems and fiber-optic data exchange networks.
SUBSTANCE: proposed local fiber-optic network has N terminals with optical receivers and transmitters as well as data exchange bus in the form of light-emitting diode loop with (N - 1) optical directional couplers connected to its first and second circuits. Light-emitting diode lines are coupled with first and second circuits of loop through couplers. These lines are provided with couplers. Ends of lines form output ports of local network. Other ends of lines form input ports of local network. Couplers in each line of loop circuits have transmission gain reducing from first to last one in harmonic sequence. Internetwork has M local networks interconnected so that each local network is connected to every next (M - 1) network; it is coupled with one local network by means of at least one output port.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability of network.
