FIELD: information technology.
SUBSTANCE: double passive fibre-optic network has first and second fibre-optic bidirectional buses, first and second central control units (controllers), multiple subscriber points of the first network and multiple subscriber points of the second network, directed X-couplers of the first bus and directed X-couplers of the second bus, as well as paired and non-paired optical circulators. Transmission to the first network is carried out at wavelength λ1, and to the second at wavelength λ2 (λ1 ≠ λ2). The directed X-couplers, in the order of their arrangement in the buses from the first to the second controller, have an increasing branching coefficient at wavelength λ1 for transmission to the first network and a decreasing branching coefficient at wavelength λ2 for transmission to the second network.
EFFECT: high reliability of the network owing to possibility of switching to operation on a standby bus in case of default in the first bus, more subscriber points serviced by the network.
