FIELD: special-purpose electrometallurgy; production of fluxes on base of fluorides of alkaline-earth elements for electroslag remelting.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes loading the flux or mechanical mixture of its components into water-cooled crystallizer and melting flux or its components. For melting the flux, use is made of steel electrode; at total content of phosphorus in flux components or in flux within 0.02-0.07 mass-%, 0.8-1.0 kg of electrode metal is molten per kg of flux and at content of phosphorus of 0.071-0.13 mass-%, 1.1-1.3 kg of electrode metal is molten.
EFFECT: reduced content of phosphorus and carbon in flux for excluding increased content of these elements in electroslag remelting.
