FIELD: building, particularly linear reinforced concrete structures working in compression, namely columns, chords, building walls formed of cast-in-place concrete.
SUBSTANCE: method involves installing crack stopping means made as films along reinforced concrete member height, wherein reinforced concrete member includes longitudinal and transversal reinforcement. The films have extensibility which is at least 3 times greater than that of concrete. Crack stopping means are connected to reinforcement bars and located transversely to outer compression force direction. In the case of column, post, chord and arch reinforcement the crack stopping means are spaced a distance less or equal to reinforced concrete member cross-section. To reinforce cast-in-place concrete building wall crack stopping means are spaced a distance equal to about half of building story height.
EFFECT: increased load-bearing capacity and durability of compressed reinforced concrete members.
