FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: proposed pump has gear and centrifugal stages. Gear stage has drive and driven gears 5, 4 whose journals are installed in movable and fixed step bearings 2, 3. Seal 7 is fitted at one side of drive shaft 6, and open-type impeller 9 of centrifugal stage is cantilever mounted at other side of drive shaft. Diameters of shaft 6 are chosen to provide ratio of area of cross section of shaft 6 for seal 7 to area of cross section of journal of drive gear 5 equal to ratio of pressure differential between outlet and inlet of impeller 9 to pressure at its outlet. At such design of pump only hydromechanical force transmitted from movable step bearing 2 acts onto working end face of fixed step bearing 3 of pump gear 5 in axial direction under operating conditions.
EFFECT: improved reliability and increased service life of pump.
