FIELD: agriculture, in particular, soil chemical processing means.
SUBSTANCE: xanthates of lignocarbohydrate materials containing about 6.0% of chemically bound CS2 by weight of material are used as means for increasing efficiency of utilizing nitrogenous fertilizers by farm crops. Employment of xanthated lignocarbohydrate material containing about 6.0% of bound carbon disulfide allows nitrogen losses to be reduced and farm crop yield to be increased. As compared to ammonium sulfate, aftereffect of applying said compound with respect to wheat yield on the first year harvest constituted 5%, on the second year it constituted 6% and on the third year it made 19%.
EFFECT: reduced losses of nitrogen and increased farm crop yield.
