FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical processing of peat and can be used for production of surface-active substances, inhibitors of nitrification-denitrification of soil and sulfur-containing peat-humic fertilizers. Initial air-dry peat is treated with sodium hydroxide and carbon disulphide under conditions of mechanochemical treatment without addition of water at the following molar ratio: 1–3 mol of sodium hydroxide and 1–3 mol of carbon disulphide per 1 mole of OH-groups of peat with intensive mechanical grinding during 10–60 minutes at 25 °C.
EFFECT: wider raw material base, possibility of non-waste technology, improved quality of product due to increased content of bound sulfur.
