FIELD: transport engineering; crawler and wheeled vehicles.
SUBSTANCE: proposed power unit consists of six-cylinder opposite diesel engine with turbocompressor supercharging and central reversible gear shifting-and-steering mechanism with high-speed complex interlocked torque converter, with two-shaft four-speed conventional gearbox with friction engagement of gears and power take off from reversible intermediate shaft of gearbox with additional creeper gear made by means of planetary train, and differential-type steering mechanism with hydrostatic transmission furnished with friction clutch to engage or disengage hydrostatic transmission from differential coupling between sides. Invention provides reduction of overall dimensions of power unit in height, reduction of distance between mating surface of engine and axis of output shafts of gear shifting-and-steering mechanism and enlarged functional capabilities of gear shifting-and-steering mechanism when power unit is used both for crawler vehicles and wheeled vehicles with steerable wheels.
EFFECT: reduced overall dimensions of power unit in height.
