HIGHLY PRODUCTIVE METHOD AND A DEVICE FOR DIRECT REDUCTION OF IRON Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

Abstract RU 2261918 C2

FIELD: direct reduction of iron with high efficiency.

SUBSTANCE: the invention is pertaining to direct reduction of iron by reducing iron oxide up to the metallized iron by its contacting with a hot reducing gas. The method includes supply of the first hot reducing gas containing CO and H2, supply of the additional reducing gas produced in reaction of a gaseous or a liquid hydrocarbon fuel with oxygen, mixing of the first hot reducing gas with the additional reducing gas with formation of a reducing gaseous mixture, enrichment of the reducing gas mixture by addition of a gaseous or liquid hydrocarbon with formation of the enriched gaseous mixture, injecting of oxygen or an oxygen-enriched air in the enriched gaseous mixture and introduction of the enriched gaseous mixture into the linked shaft furnace of a direct reduction in capacity of a hot reducing gas. The invention allows to increase amount of the reducing agent in the gas fed into a ring-type distributor of the furnace with simultaneous adjustment of the optimal temperature of the gas fed into the ring-type distributor.

EFFECT: the invention ensures an increased amount of the reducing agent in the gas fed into the furnace ring-type distributor and control of the optimal temperature of the gas fed into the ring-type distributor.
