FIELD: nuclear power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: the proposed method includes production of the protective layer from coolant, flowing around a thermonuclear charge, located within a vessel. In this case the internal protective layers in the vessel is produced from the mixture of the coolant (for example, potassium-sodium alloy) with gas bubbles (for example, hydrogen or helium). The mixture fills the vessel volume completely or partly. It may be created after or during coolant feeding into vessel, or by means of gas dissolution in coolant and following pressure drop in the vessel and dissolved gas formation in all volume of the coolant. Besides, the gas may be dissolved in the coolant outside the vessel and may be fed into the pipelines, feeding the coolant to the vessel. The protective layer production may be realized also in a separate chamber.
EFFECT: increased reliability of the vessel protection from explosion.
