METHOD OF INSPECTION OF LINEARITY OF CALIBRATION CHARACTERISTIC OF PULSE PHOTOMETER Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: measurement technology.

SUBSTANCE: method is used for measuring optical characteristics of atmosphere for determining meteorological range of visibility at meteorological provision of take-off and landing of flying vehicles, namely for inspecting linearity of light characteristics of light transmission factor photoelectric converters. N initial levels of light flux are set subsequently by means of neutral light filters and corresponding levels of electric signal are measured at output of photoelectric converter of pulse photometer while setting rest n-1 neutral filters on the path of light flow In(N) and without them I0(N). After overlapping light flow with non-transparent screen and absolute value of systematic error /Δ/ is determined ("zero" shift). Relations of xn=I'n(N)/I'0(N) are calculated from improved values of I'0(N)=I0(N)- /Δ/ and I'n(N)=IΦ(N)- /Δ/. For any initial level of light flow and any neutral light filter the average meaning is calculated from results of measurements of Xn(N)=(xn1+x2n2+ x3n3 +...xnN)/(n-1) as well as values of absolute meanings of deviations xn-xn(N) from which values availability and degree of nonlinearity of calibration characteristic of photoelectric converter of pulse photometer is revealed. From average meaning of xn for linear (with preset error) part of calibration characteristic the transparency coefficient of neutral filter is determined. From any certified light filter the photoelectric converter of pulse photometer the calibration is carried out.

EFFECT: improved precision; simplified process of measurement.
