FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analytical chemistry and specifically to a method for photometric determination of sodium acetate content in air of a working area. Method for quantitative determination of sodium acetate content in air of working area by method of photometry, including air sampling, quantitative determination of content of sodium acetate by obtaining a coloured compound therefrom under the action of iron (III) chloride solution and subsequent analysis using a photometry method using a calibration curve, wherein optical density of analysed solution is measured relative to zero solution; for each sample, two parallel measurements are carried out; quantitative calculation of results of single measurements of mass concentration of sodium acetate in sample – C1, C2, checking the following inequality: ; if performed, the mass concentration of sodium acetate in the air of the working area is calculated as the arithmetic average of two parallel measurements C1, C2.
EFFECT: determining concentration of sodium acetate in air of the working area in the range of concentrations (5-30) mg/m3 with an error not exceeding 24%.
