FIELD: measuring equipment.

SUBSTANCE: photodetector is influenced with two pulsed light fluxes of equal duration, at that the second pulse is delayed relative to the first by an amount equal to half the duration of the light pulse. The emission intensity of the first light pulse is minimal and constant, and the intensity of the second is successively increased from measurement to measurement. At that the signal strengths of each light pulse and the total signal power in a time interval where the pulses are overlapped, are measured. The multiple of the said process enables to move along the axis of the light flux with a fixed pitch, after which the desired point of the light characteristic is determined by the signal of the photodetector from the amount of flows.

EFFECT: increased accuracy of measurement of light characteristic.
