FIELD: medicine; medical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method involves measuring bilirubin concentration directly in capillary by measuring luminous source light flux absorption in sample under study at two wavelengths, transforming the measured light flux into electric signal, processing it and calculating optical density of sample as logarithm of measured light fluxes absorbed at two wavelengths. Light flux absorption is measured at two wavelengths of 492 and 523 nm for the sample under study and reference measures manufactured from colored and colorless glass, respectively. Measured light flux on reference measures is used for calibrating illumination unit light filter wavelengths. Device has illumination unit having two light sources provided with interference light filters, means for setting samples under study, photoelectric transducer, unit for processing electric signals, indicator and power supply source. The interference light filters produce light at two wavelengths of 492 and 523 nm, the means for setting samples under study has at least three cells for arranging sample under study and reference measures manufactured from colored and colorless glass, respectively. The means is linearly movable over positional cells in perpendicular to luminous flux of the illumination unit. Unit for processing electric signal is connected to photoelectric transducer unit, illumination unit, power supply source and indicator unit.
EFFECT: accelerated method for measuring bilirubin directly in capillary.
