SUBSTANCE: method comprises mounting the emitter on the concrete surface, moving the receiver with a constant step of 10-100 mm along the line that passes through the site of the mounting of the emitter, measuring the time interval taken by the longitudinal ultrasonic waves to cover the distance for each site of the receiver, plotting the hodograph of the velocity, determining the inflection point in the line of the hodograph at the interface between disturbed and undisturbed concrete, measuring the velocities of ultrasonic in the disturbed and undisturbed layers of concrete, and calculating the thickness of the damaged concrete layer from the formula proposed.
EFFECT: enhance accuracy and reliability of testing.
