SUBSTANCE: method comprises mounting the emitter and receiver of ultrasonic oscillations at the same distance from the crack axis and at a given distance in undisturbed concrete, determining the time interval taken by longitudinal ultrasonic waves to turn around the crack and to cover a given distance in undisturbed concrete, determining the velocity of longitudinal ultrasonic waves in undisturbed concrete, and measuring the depth of the crack in concrete.
EFFECT: enhanced accuracy and reliability of testing.
