TRAY TYPE CONTAINER Russian patent published in 2005 - IPC

FIELD: packing equipment, particularly containers of polygonal cross-section formed by folding or erecting one or more blanks made of paper.

SUBSTANCE: container is formed of rectangular blank of plastically deformed sheet flexible material. The blank is divided by fold lines into several parts forming container bottom, side and end walls, corner members, as well as end and corner flanges. Corner members of adjacent walls include triangular parts defined by fold lines and are folded inside the container along fold lines. The container is of cuboids shape. End flanges thereof are bent outwards in parallel to container bottom. Each corner flange is bent onto two adjacent flanges and flush with them so that triangular corner parts are simultaneously formed, wherein the corner parts define dovetail outline in cross-section. Corner member is shaped as triangular pyramid. Mating members of corner and end flanges are welded or heat-sealed so that common flange extending along the full container perimeter is created.

EFFECT: increased reliability and rigidity of corner members, possibility of container usage for air-tight product packing.
