FIELD: metallurgy; construction of blast furnaces.
SUBSTANCE: proposed blast furnace has hearth, tap-hole and blast-furnace bottom with at least three layers of refractory lining in form of rows of refractory blocks. External surface of blast-furnace bottom formed by surface of lining of upper row of refractory blocks is located below level of tap-hole by magnitude H (m) determined from the following relationship: H=(0.9-1.1)•(750d-22d2-3000); height of blast-furnace bottom (Hb) is determined from the following relationship: Hb.f.b=(4000-7000)-H and thickness of hearth wall (b) engageable with blast-furnace bottom is determined from the following relationship: b=(0.05-0.15), where d is inner diameter of blast-furnace bottom surface, m. Invention ensures reduction of intensity of breaking of refractory masonry of hearth walls and blast-furnace bottom due to forming refractory protective lining slag on surface of blast-furnace bottom and adjoining section of hearth.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency and reliability.
